Further visa extensions for foreign nationals unable to return home due to Covid-19 Pandemic.
#borisjohnson #pritpatel #ukvisaupdate

The latest extension will be valid until 31 July 2020 and will apply to any individual in the United Kingdom whose visa expired after the 24 January and was unable to go back to their home country.

This is an update on the video posted on 13 May, 2020. We highly suggest you to watch the full video to avoid any misperception.

Foreign nationals who were unable to go back to their home country due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to prolong their visa until the end of this July to provide them composure that they can reside in the United Kingdom peacefully until they are able to return their home country safe and sound.

The visa extension will remain until 31 July 2020, and will apply to any foreign national whose visa expired after 24 January 2020 and cannot depart from the United Kingdom because of travel restrictions or self-isolation.

While the United Kingdom government has presented this visa extension to aid those who are not able to get home before 31 July 2020, those foreign national presently in the United Kingdom on temporary visas, such as visitor visas, must go back to their home country as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.

Priti Patel, the United Kingdom Home Secretary stated:

By extending people’s visas further, we are giving them peace of mind that they are able to stay in the UK until the end of July if they are unable to leave the country safely.

This is one of a number of unprecedented measures the government has made to support people during this time, however, as we begin a cautious return to normality those currently in the UK on expired visitor visas should return home as soon as possible.

This publication builds on the prior extension which lasts until 31 May 2020, and makes sure that foreign nationals who are unable to depart from the United Kingdom are not obstructed by conditions outside of their control.

A committed Covid-19 immigration team is constantly working with Foreign Nationals to make the procedure as simple as possible. Any foreign national in this pandemic, who has not made contact with them already, just needs to get in touch with the team via an online form to inform them about their visa expiry and they will be provided with an extension.

To assist those foreign nationals who desire to apply for visas to stay in the United Kingdom long-term, the Home Office is also prolonging the in-country switching facilities until 31 July 2020.

This denotes that foreign nationals can apply to switch into United Kingdom long-term visa routes whilst residing in the United Kingdom. UKVI will carry on processing visa applications as quickly as possible, then again some visa applications may take longer than usual because of the Covid-19 related operational pressures.

No immigration enforcement prosecution will be carried out during this phase for those foreign nationals who email the Home Office as mentioned in this video update.

Taking into consideration the present guidance on self-isolation and social distancing, the United Kingdom Home Office is also relaxing various other requirements on visa sponsors, such as permitting non-EU nationals in the United Kingdom under work or study routes to commence their work or study from home.

Our video ends here today. Comment below if you have any questions relating to your UK Visa.
